This Curved Shirasaya has a very elegant appearance. The Shirasaya has a dark burgundy lacquered finish which is very shiny. The blade is made of 440 stainless steel and has an inscription "imako arigami shishi" which roughly translated means "I belong to the warrior in whom the old ways have joined the new" (Thanks Reddit!). When closed, the shirasaya has a cut out portion revealing this message at all times. The handle is wood with the same dark burgundy lacquer finish.
